A Yoga and Mindfulness Program to Help Your Child Improve Attention and Emotional Balance

Each class is designed using the five Little Flower Yoga elements of Connect,  Breathe, Move, Focus and Relax. The benefits of each element are:

  • Connect – Activities to connect to themselves, the world around them, and their community
  • Breathe – Harness the power of breath to manage their emotional and energetic state
  • Move – Improved physical health, increased confidence, and enhanced executive function
  • Focus – Increased capacity to pay attention, and focus on the task at hand
    Relax – Restores alertness, managed over-stimulation, and improves sleep quality.

These 5 elements are incorporated into each class in a fun way that your child will be able to apply them to real life experiences through mindfulness. In a world full of stressful situations, the mindfulness based yoga practice will provide your child with a set of tools for creating space between the input of life experience and the output of their reactions. In that space, they will pay attention. They will become more aware of what they are feeling, think for a moment, and make decisions. Once they learn to find that space, they can use it to take control of their lives.The class is an hour class and all activities are appropriate for ages 8-13. Bring a mat, water and get ready for a fun experience.

8 weeks Spring Series:
3/29 to 5/24 (skipping 4/12)
Wednesdays, 4:30 to 5:30 pm – REGISTER NOW

All children ages 8 to 13 welcome. Must sign up for series (no make up / no Drop-in)

Our children face a busy world, with many things demanding their attention. The 8-week Mindfulness for Kids programs are tailored to children from 3rd through 5th grade and 6th through 10th grade to allow them to strengthen their ability to be present, learn how to respond rather than react and generate compassion for themselves and others. We invite you to come and learn about these 8-week programs and meet Michelle Moorhead.

Mindfulness for Kids (3rd – 5th graders)
8 weeks: Sundays, 2:00 to 3:00 pm – Sign up
Runs from April 2, 2017 (Skipping 4/16 and 5/28) to June 4, 2017

Mindfulness for Pre-Teens and Teenagers (6th – 10th graders)
8 weeks: Sundays, 6:00 to 7:00 pm – Sign up
Runs from April 2, 2017 (Skipping 4/16 and 5/28) to June 4, 2017
