Labyrinth Blessing

with Debbie Ketter
6:00 pm to 6:30 pm – Bring an umbrella (just in case)

A labyrinth is an ancient form of walking meditation. Every time it is walked, it is blessed, and when a community comes together, it is a powerful experience. On Oct. 1 at 6 pm, there will be a group blessing and walk of the new labyrinth at the Princeton Center for Yoga & Health. It will be led by Deborah Ketter, an advanced Veriditas certified labyrinth facilitator who led the building of the labyrinth.

Celebrating Kirtan, Songs and Community!

Bring Down the Light: PCYH 20th Anniversary Celebration Kirtan

with Suzin Green and Daniel Johnson (tabla) & David Freeman
8:00 pm to late

2016_10 Celebration (4)Come to the place where it all began. One of the early voices of the American Kirtan scene, Suzin moved to the Princeton area in 1996, just around the time Deborah was opening PCYH. These were the days when the physical practice of yoga was just starting to take root. Yogic mantra, kirtan, and meditation were still outliers to the mainstream. Then Suzin began offering weekly classes, Saturday Night Kirtan, and weekend workshops at PCYH, Daniel Johnson came on the scene, and PCYH became one of the hubs of ecstatic chant on the east coast. And the rest is history….

Join us for this rare local performance by master artists of the tradition. If you’ve never chanted with Suzin and Daniel, you are in for an unforgettable experience. Their music weaves the rapture of kirtan, stillness of mantra, and intoxicating rhythms of the drum. Currently performing the Surya Namaskar mantras featured on their new album, Mantras of the Sun, experience this music once and remember it for a lifetime.
